Loft Conversion
Want more space in your property, but don't have the space to do an extension? Want an extra bedroom, or a new master bedroom? Have a loft and want to extend it? Then this is the page for you. Extending your loft means you have 1, usually 2, rooms at your disposal. Wether you want a bedroom, bathroom, storage room office is up to you.
How it works:
Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
Week 5
Week 6
Week 7
The First week involves mainly the demolition of the existing roof and and the demolishing of anything that makes up the exisiting loft. Moreover, we also place scaffolding in, considering that the loft is now open. Skips are placed and equiptment is setup.
In the second week, we prepare for and install the steel beems so that the loft is well supported.
Here we complete all of the loft's extrerior structures (this depends on the type of loft you choose to do) including the roofing, in which we normally use black tiles. It is at this point that we also add velux windows/skylighs to the loft conversion.
In the fourth week, we install the staircase and complete the very first fix of electric wiring and plumbing fundamentals in the loft. We occasionally also fit the bathroom at this point, although more often than not this happens later.
At this point we install the partitions, complete the insulation process, install the plaster boards, and finally plaster the walls in preperation for painting.
This is the point usually when we install and complete the bathroom, as well as all neccessary wood work for loft conversion. We alos begin to wrap up the project, hence the clean up begins.
In this last week, we complete all second fix wiring/electrics and any sanitary needs are fulfilled (i.e the sink, etc). Then, once the cleaning procedure was finished, we hand over the keys and the project is done.
