The Albert Road Project is an impressive project that really showcases this skills Ibex Construction brings to the table. The project involved the complete renovation of a flat, including a loft conversion, 5 Skylights, and much more to come.

Loft Conversion

Demolishing the existing roof was the very first step in the loft conversion, as well as the removal of 1 partition. We also removed most of the walls and floors as we planned on changing both of those (including the plumbing and electrical work within there). In this particular loft conversion, there were no partition required, as the aim was for it to become an office space for the owner(s). Next, we began work on the roof, leaving spaces for the 2 skylights. The structure of the loft was redesigned completely, and so the installation of wooden and steel beams was required. Following that installation, we installed the timber joists to further stabilise the loft conversion and as the base for insulation, membrane, the tiles, insulation, skylights and plaster boards. We chose to do a unique type of flooring, requested by the owner, of OSB Tongue and Groove, considering that the loft was going to be used as an office space, this makes sense.

The first things we did here was demolish all partitions and, similar to the loft, the walls and the flooring, as we were going to rewire the electrics and redo the plumbing. Following the demolition process, we took out new floor plan and inserted new partitions, changing the layout of the flat to custom the owners. Then, we began work on the electrical and plumbing works for the property. Considering that the bathroom had gone from one side of the property to the other, this took a bit longer than usual. Once that was completed, we closed in the floors, using an engineered wood flooring as the finish for its feeling of modernity and cosiness in the property. We closed the walls with a white paint finish, inserted the bathroom and tiling, added the lights (for which we chose LED spotlights), and that summarises the Flat Renovation!
