The Beechwood Gardens project was a six by six metre extension project completed by Ibex in 2019, consisting also of a House Renovation.

Extension

The first thing we did in terms of extending the property was dig the foundations, lay the concrete, made it water proof using sheets of plastic, leveled it, places down more concrete and quite litterally began building from the ground up. This Client in particular had a reasonably large amount of space available to extend (6m x 6m), so this process of setting up the foundations and placing in the beams took a bit longer than usual:

You will find that the we value the quality of the work higher than the amount of time it took to do so, although we are still very time sensitive. Furthermore, after the foundations had been finished, we began laying the concrete slabs and the bricklaying phase began. Once that was finished, we layed the steel beams, did the electrical work, did the plastering (we chose to leave part of a wall exposed the bricks for aesthetic) and insulation and finally the Roof. Then the interior of the Extension begins. The existing wall between the extension and the house was then demolished, and leveled. Then the floor was done (a Polished wood finish and tiling), large glass sliding doors were inserted and some skylights were fitted (3, including the one above the sliding doors). Finally we browsed, bought and inserted an island kitchen into the extension space, marking the end of the extension phase.

House Renovation

The first thing we did here was demolish any existing sectors of the property that needed to be, in order to continue with the floor plan and the house renovation process. We

demolitioned all partitions and the walls and the flooring, as we were going to rewire the property and redo the plumbing. After the end of the demolition process, in accordance with the floor plan, we began to insert the partitions to fit the customers needs. Unlike for some of our other projects, this particular one required a high amount of partitions, so this part took a bit longer than usual; but once it was done, we began work in the electrical and plumbing works of the property. Once that was completed, we closed the floors, again using a polished wood finish to get that feeling of modernity and cosyness in the property, carpeted the stairs, closed the walls with a light blue paint finish, finished the ceiling and added the lights, for which we chose hanging laterns, and that sums up the project.
